Karine (ka-ree-nah) Swenson is a visual artist living in the high desert of Southern California, near Joshua Tree National Park.  She paints in oil, watercolor and pastel.  Her abstract, or non-representational paintings are a visual exploration of color and form.  She also has a life-long interest in painting and drawing the human figure.  There are many facets to the work of this artist. The many different places and adventures Swenson has experienced all lend something more to the creation of her art.  She seeks a visual language that transcends words and hopefully touches on a quality that is universal.  She draws heavily from nature, but she also reaches deep within for the creation of her art.
