Artist Statement - Monotypes

"Relationships are so important in life. The shapes represent people, with all of our individuality. Shapes are created using objects that are man-made. Shapes can be unlike in appearance, yet have some connection or relationship with each other. Sometimes that relationship is no more than the space between. Physical distance does not always mean a lack of relationship, nor does proximity indicate closeness. The relationship between ourselves and our surroundings is also explored. Sometimes shapes overlap. Color is the ingredient that provides emotional content and connects us to the soul."
