These paintings are meant to be tranquil and meditative.  The circle is a symbol of our lives - at times we are strong, while at other times we feel nearly transparent.  It is an indication of our part in the natural world, where the ebb and flow of life effects every living being.  The circle, the orb is such a powerful symbol to use, since it is a shape repeated over and over in nature: sun, stars, moon, the earth, eyes, ...down to the tiniest cell.  The shape is repeated in the paintings as a way to slowly move the eye.  -K.
